First hospitality job:
My first paid hospitality job was as a cashier at McDonalds, but I did my co-op in high
school at Mr. Greek as a prep cook.

Age you started working in hospitality:
I was 15 years old when I began working in the hospitality industry for my co-op
placement.

Your inspiration to begin working in hospitality:
My inspiration was honestly a bad moment I had at a restaurant as a kid. I wanted to
be able to have people not feel the way I felt that day and make the guest leave with a
smile.

My hospitality mentor:
I have had many mentors in my life, which I am very grateful for, but I currently feel like
my mentor/inspiration is Kristy Adams. She inspires me to work hard, learn from my
mistakes, and how to be positive and be the best I can be.

What are your favourite aspects of your job?
I love meeting and talking to new people. Everyone has their own story and when you
get an opportunity to learn a persons history, it can possibly change your perspective
on life.

What has inspired you to continue your career path in hospitality?
My long-term goal of becoming an instructor has inspired me to continue my career
path. I want to be able to learn everything I can, while gaining experiences and leaving
marks on peoples’ hearts. I want to be able to teach my knowledge to others.

Advice for students interested in a career in hospitality:
This field is a huge family, if you get an opportunity to learn from anyone, take it and if
you want to grow your knowledge, ask questions.
